It all started with HyperX Cloud, then Cloud Cloud, Revolver was launched and the rest is history. They never fail to impress us in our review and here we are again with another model. The HyperX Cloud Alpha Pro Gaming Headset is a step up from previous HyperX Cloud models. Under the luxury shell, HyperX finally introduced a dual-chamber design for drivers. Basically this means less distortion and better separation between frequency range
Technical Spesification
The HyperX Cloud Alpha Pro gaming headset features a pair of 53mm dynamic drivers with 65 ohms impedance. It is a closed-over-the-ear design with a nominal frequency response of 13Hz to 27KHz. Better frequency range than previous models.
Design
The design elements of the HyperX Cloud Alpha Pro Gaming Headset are a tribute to the original. Something that the HyperX Cloud Revolver failed to capture, or at least tried to shoot down. It’s a sleeker design, with an emphasis on shaving weight. That said, the HyperX Cloud Apha Pro weighs in at 298 grams without the cables. About 22 grams lighter than the original . I just hope that in the near future HyperX will release a Cloud Alpha with more color options and a model without a matte finish.
The headband is still based on a flexible design with a HyperX logo emblazoned on a stitched synthetic leather. The padding of the HyperX Alpha Pro is about half an inch, enough to provide a comfortable fit and evenly distributed weight.

Construction
The fillings, on the other hand, are based on half-inch-thick memory foam pads. The dual controller cameras are hidden by mesh filters, although they are quite thin. Not that I’m complaining, but those with bigger ears can. Since this is a follow-up to the cloud models, it does not feature a rotating ear cup design .The microphone is a step up from those included with previous HyperX Cloud models. It is also fast and flexible like the rest, perhaps a little more flexible.
HyperX decided to go with a proprietary connection for both 3.5mm ports. These aren’t bad, considering the strength needed to combat cable kink. The HyperX Cloud line is a great success. Comfort
The HyperX Cloud Alpha Pro Gaming Headset is a step up from previous HyperX Cloud models. Under the luxury shell, HyperX finally introduced a dual-chamber design for drivers. Basically this means less distortion and better separation between frequency ranges. HyperX opted to use detachable cables with a TRRS 1.3 cable as the main one with the control box. It is compatible with mobile devices and consoles, while the longer dual audio output 2 cable is for the PC. Well thought out packages we have here. Simple, but impressive.
SOFTWARE:
There is no software included with the HyperX Cloud Alpha Pro gaming headset. In fact, most HyperX gears don’t come with any, which is in line with their brand philosophy geared towards competitiveness and simplicity. If it is not necessary, then you will not see any.
CONFIGURATION OF THE TEST AND METHODOLOGY:
Our test setup is based on a system with a Realtek ALC892 codec, tuned to generate a flat sound signature. On the other hand, the performance of the microphone is also evaluated by the same audio solution sampled in a 34dB environment. The helmet used for cross-reference sampling is a SONY MDR-7506 Studio Headphones – an ideal studio monitor for A / B testing. Note that we keep the sound pressure level around 85dBA for the duration of testing. Our main goals are to detail the games and the overall performance of the helmet.
AUDIO PERFORMANCE TARGET:
The hatters, while mostly subjectively tested, could still be tested for basic objective measurements. Helping us do just that are headphones and earphones from AudioCheck.net Benchmarking Archives Test .
Based on AudioCheck.net test files, HyperX Cloud Alpha Pro gaming headsets were successfully streamed in most test suites. In particular, the dynamic range at 54 dB below full scale. That’s a great brand for those who play in a noisy environment.
GENERAL AUDIO PERFORMANCE:
The lower frequency ranges of the HyperX Cloud Alpha present an excellent presentation of subwoofers and low mids, with a good upper limit; Avoiding complications with the lower middle ranges. The quality and quantity of bass definitely improved with the HyperX Cloud Alpha compared to previous models.
With a separate camera, the mid-range performance also saw improvements. Vocal-emphasized tracks are flawless to listen to, which is rare enough for gaming headsets. But again, we are looking at the HyperX Cloud Alpha Pro here. The direct descendant of the legendary lineup.
The highs are not as bright as the previous models, however, we cannot say that the final details are lacking. It felt good, good or home to be precise.
GAME PERFORMANCE:
Immersive and competitive level performance is what we are looking for when it comes to gaming headsets. With that in mind, we launched our favorite games with the HyperX Cloud Alpha Pro. That includes Battlefield 4, an old game, yet it is not far behind when it comes to audio and positional details
Image is where we examine the spatial location of audio sources. It is important for music and it is also important in games, where positional audio is king. Laterally and in depth, the images are enhanced with the HyperX Cloud Alpha Pro. That is with reference to the older models. I’ve already praised what came before the Alpha Pro, but this is on another level of detail. A must see if you have the older couple.
MICROPHONE PERFORMANCE:
Microphone performance is another major benefit of HyperX Cloud Alpha Pro. Expect with a specified frequency range of 50Hz to 18KHz. If it is possible for you to have a sexy IRL voice, then it should be heard flawlessly on the receiving end.
Noise cancellation is quite excellent. I should have recorded the above test in a 34dBA environment but we actually did it in a 52dBA environment. That is during rush hour traffic.
WRAPPING IT UP:
The HyperX Cloud Alpha Pro gaming headset is anything but irrational. It may not have 7.1 surround but it is in all respects a better option than some Dolby Surround headphones at the same price. Microphone quality is another aspect of HyperX Cloud Pro that we liked. It’s definitely an upgrade from the old one with better range and noise-canceling properties.
