Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Ti GPU Review

Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Ti: Nvidia’s New Ampere Leader

The story of the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Ti should be familiar ground. Halfway through the normal product cycle, release a better performing the best grapich cards?, better performing variant of the existing x80 series part with a price that makes for a compelling upgrade.

    Great Card RTX 3080 Ti

The GTX 1080 was a great card at the time, and the GTX 1080 Ti upped the ante and fundamentally redefined what we expected from a mid-cycle update.

But anything even remotely competitive against our hierarchy of GPU benchmarks, plus all the best graphics cards , are currently misplaced with virtually no retail availability and sky-high prices on sites like eBay. As a result, the RTX 3080 Ti looks much more like the RTX 2080 Ti than the GTX 1080 Ti: fast but expensive.

    Whats Change Significant ?

Basically, nothing has changed with the Nvidia Ampere architecture. More and more games support ray tracing and DLSS, and driver improvements over the past nine months have changed performance slightly since launch.

Otherwise, the RTX 3080 Ti uses the same GA102 GPU found in the GeForce RTX 3090 and GeForce RTX 3080 , disables two more SMs compared to the 3090 and halves the VRAM capacity compared to the 3090. It’s not that big. process in most games, and performance should generally be fairly similar between the two.

    Price More Expensive?

The real question will be the retail price and availability, which will no doubt be terrible. Officially, the RTX 3080 Ti Founders Edition is priced at €1,199 – €300 less than the 3090, but €500 more than the 3080. In practice, the RTX 3080 is already selling for almost €2,000 on eBay, and even in the Newegg Shuffle it regularly goes for over 1,200€.

Meanwhile, the RTX 3090 is closing in on 3000€on eBay and costs over 2,000€in the Newegg Shuffles we’ve been tracking – and your chances of being picked in the Shuffle are extremely low, in our experience.

Here’s a quick look at the specs of the RTX 3080 Ti, as well as similar Nvidia GPUs:

    Performance RTX 3080 Ti

In terms of theoretical performance, the RTX 3080 Ti is 3-4% behind the RTX 3090 and 14-20% ahead of the RTX 3080. Memory bandwidth shows the biggest gains, thanks to the addition of two memory channels , although the clocks are slightly lower on the GPU side of things.

Power consumption is rated at 350W, the same as the 3090 and 30W more than the 3080, which could be an issue given that the 3080 Ti Founders Edition uses the same cooler design as the 3080 rather than the three-slot monstrosity that is the 3090 Founders Edition.

    Improvement RTX 3080 Ti

When it comes to generational improvements, the RTX 3080 Ti is potentially more than double the compute performance of the 2080 Ti, with almost 50% more memory bandwidth.

In practice, we’d expect performance to be around 40-50% faster than the 2080 Ti, but that’ll mostly be at 4K and 1440p. Buying a GPU like this for 1080p gaming (unless you play games with lots of ray-tracing effects) would be a waste of money.

    Conclusion

One last thing to note before continuing is that the RTX 3080 Ti implements Nvidia’s Ethereum hash limiter. The limiter works as expected so far, and we’ve seen average hash rates of 55-65 MHps with the stock settings, depending on the software used.

This is essentially half the performance we expected from the hardware and similar to what we saw with the launch of the GeForce RTX 3060 . Hopefully Nvidia doesn’t accidentally bypass its own lock this time, though we expect prices to stay above the official starting point, even with the limiter.

  • HyperX Alloy Elite 2 Review, Software, Manual

    The HyperX Alloy Elite Introduce

The HyperX Alloy Elite 2 keyboard takes the design of its predecessor and is positioned as a very complete mechanical keyboard emphasizing its RGB lighting.

For this, it takes advantage of the brand’s new two-tone keys which house high-performance HyperX Red mechanical switches already seen on the Alloy Origins .

    HyperX Alloy Elite 2 review

Two years after the release of the Alloy Elite RGB keyboard , HyperX is back in the spotlight with a new iteration stamped “2”. This new version brings with it some new features which appear very thin on reading the technical sheet.

The HyperX Alloy Elite 2 gaming keyboard offers a design identical to that of its big brother with a strong emphasis on RGB lighting and performance since the novelties of this model revolve around its keys and switches.

Offered at a fairly high price of around 170 euros, this new iteration will have a lot to do to convince us, as the market has evolved in recent years.

Design & Ergonomics for HyperX Alloy Elite 2

In terms of design, HyperX did not put much effort into this new keyboard since it has exactly the same design as the two previous models. We made the same observation during our test of the RGB version.

See Also : Corsair K95  RGB Platinum Review

The keyboard offers here a “frameless” hard plastic frame overhung by a metal plate which gives it significant rigidity and allows the keyboard and its kilo and a half to hold well in place on our mat.

The keys and their RGB lighting thus sit directly on this aluminum plate in order to efficiently diffuse the light.

Keys and buttons HyperX Alloy Elite 2

Above the typing zone, we find this bar slightly detached from the body of the keyboard. On the right, you will find the various multimedia control buttons as well as a very practical although a little cheap volume adjustment wheel .

On the left, three other buttons are positioned to allow you to customize certain functions of the Alloy Elite 2 on the fly.

The first allows to manage the power of the lighting, the second to switch between the different profiles. And the last activates the game mode which deactivates for example the Windows key.

    Lighting RGB

Due to their slightly translucent white rim, they therefore better diffuse the light coming from the RGB switches.

Here, it is clearly a matter of taste. Some will love it, others will find it very ugly. For my part, I am quite convinced. Even if at full power the lighting is a bit too powerful on this model.

Note also that this news touch almost overshadows the usual light bar on the top of the keyboard and which can display rather varied lighting effects.

    Mechanical Switches

The other novelty of the Alloy Elite 2 is hidden under these new keys since the keyboard features the red mechanical switches signed HyperX.

We had already been able to test these switches during our test of the Alloy Origins and personally I’m still a fan. We will come back to this a little later in the article.

On the other hand, we find the usual very imposing braided USB cable. Which will need to be connected via two separate ports to be able to take advantage of the USB port on the back of the keyboard.

    Profile Setting

As far as the functionalities are concerned, nothing very exciting since. As usual, it will be necessary to turn to the HyperX NGenuity driver to manage the entire keyboard configuration. The driver has not changed at all since our last test of a HyperX product and we still find this interface not necessarily very clear or easy to use.

Note that, as before, the driver must remain open and cannot be minimized in the Windows notification bar.

First, there is an interface dedicated to configuring the lighting effects of the Alloy Elite 2. The operation here is quite clear and offers an interface similar to the layers found in Photoshop.

    Configuration

The second tab is dedicated to the allocation of keys and has a fairly wide range of possible configurations. You can thus choose to remap the keys with any other on the keyboard. Certain system functions or even recordable macros directly from the driver.

All these settings can obviously be saved in profiles that we will associate with our games or applications. The keyboard also has an internal memory capable of storing 3 different profiles.

Be careful though: these profiles will only be accessible when the pilot is not running. If this is the case, the profiles present in Genuity will take precedence over those saved on the Alloy.

    Performances

We are now tackling the performance of the Alloy Elite 2 which. Like the Alloy Origins range, benefits from the new HyperX Red switches.

Related Post : Logitech K750 Keyboard : Perfect for typing

The difference is in the stroke which is shorter on HyperX switches with “only” 3.8mm.  And an activation point located at 1.8mm. The gain in responsiveness is quickly noticeable and will also require a little adaptation time to master the keyboard perfectly.

On our side, we are really fans of these switches which perfectly meet our needs whether in game or in writing. They turn out to be a little louder than the Cherry MX Reds and are in a way similar to the SteelSeries QX2 Red switches found on the Apex 7 .

In the same way, he was put to contribution for the writing of this article and answers there too present. HyperX seems to have found the right recipe for their homemade switches, which are simply excellent.

    Conclusion

In the end, HyperX gives us here a fairly mixed evolution of its Alloy Elite RGB model. If we always take advantage of an efficient design, we regret the lack of real novelty. The new two-tone keys may nevertheless appeal to some even if the absence of the wrist rest seems frankly disappointing.

It is in terms of performance that the evolution is most felt with the arrival of HyperX Red switches which are very efficient. They are among our favorite linear switches on the market.

We recommend that you turn to this model instead if you are ready to skip the multimedia controls. And very “bright” RGB lighting of the Alloy Elite 2.

  • Corsair K95 RGB Platinum Review

    Corsair K95 RGB

Corsair K95 RGB Platinum review: even faster and brighter

New high-end keyboard from Corsair, the K95 RGB Platinum has the heavy task of replacing the K95 (RGB) in the manufacturer’s catalog.

To put the odds in its favor, it is equipped with the latest ultra-fast Cherry MX Speed switches and plays the card of luminous aesthetics with a new backlit area on its upper edge.

In return, it loses two-thirds of its macro keys, which may disappoint fans of additional controls. This at least has the merit of reducing the size of the keyboard

    Presentation for Corsair K95 RGB

The K95 RGB Platinum is offered in two versions in our regions: one is equipped with Cherry MX Speed switches, the other with Cherry MX Brown.

A bronze gray color also exists in addition to the black color by default, but it is only found across the Atlantic (QWERTY version therefore).

    Ergonomics

Right out of the box, the K95 RGB Platinum imposes and clearly marks its high-end claims. Less massive than its predecessor (465 mm wide against 502 mm due to the removal of 2 rows of macro keys). It nevertheless still occupies a good space on the desk (171 mm high, about 60 mm more with the rest) palms installed). But without appearing intrusive thanks to relatively simple lines and side borders of only 5mm.

This new K95 knows how to remain aesthetically sober and does not show its video game side too much. Only the row of macro keys (G1 to G6) and the font of the characters betray this orientation. Without however removing this relatively serious aspect.

At least, this is true if we disregard the backlight, which is precisely highlighted by Corsair on this new keyboard.

    Backlighting

In addition to the multicolored backlighting (RGB) of the keys, the K95 RGB Platinum has a light strip at its top. For a very nice rendering, although quite a gadget, let’s face it. The effect can nevertheless remain discreet and brings a certain cachet to the keyboard.

    Corsair K95 RGB image

The backlighting of the keys is for its part very clean, thanks to the Cherry MX RGB switches used. Which diffuse the light better due to their transparent structure – the led is located at their base and not on the top, unlike previous led switches of the brand.

However, the light diffuses between the keys and not only illuminates the laser engraved inscription on the key. For lack of very precise directivity – the Logitech Romer G and SteelSeries QS1 switches only illuminate the reverse. the top of the key. One is not better than the other, it is a matter of personal preference.

    Material For Corsair K95

We find the brushed aluminum finish, typical of the manufacturer’s high-end keyboards, in the form of a plate a little less than 2 mm thick. This covers a beautifully made plastic frame and provides good rigidity to the keyboard. The switches are attached directly to this plate and no plastic shell is added to keep the ” frameless ” design dear to Corsair.

In addition to the airy side of this design, with its keys that seem to float above the chassis, it facilitates maintenance since all it takes is a blow of the blower to expel dust and other dirt that never fails to settle between the keys. The impression of quality is always there and the finishes are once again impeccable.

    Comfortable Keyboard with palm rest

User comfort is also at the rendezvous, in particular thanks to a beautifully crafted palm rest. Incorporating a non-slip and reversible magnetic strip, for two different types of coverings. One studded with small holes, the other covered triangular patterns in relief. The rubberized material used is particularly soft and therefore very pleasant on the hands. Not very sensitive to fingerprints, but it too easily captures dirt.

The palm rest is slightly raised from the keys to limit the arch of the wrists and the tilt of the fingers. Users who prefer a steeper angle, however, can deploy the feet below the back of the keyboard. Making the top of the keys drop from 30 to 32mm on the first row and 38 to 48mm on the last. Conversely, unlike the K70 RGB Rapidfire. The K95 RGB Platinum does not have any foot on the front and therefore a flatter typing position cannot be obtained a slight inclination remains.

The stability is impeccable thanks to 4 very large rubber pads placed under the keyboard, supplemented by 3 others under the palm rest. The 1324 g also contribute to this good impression, the keyboard also appearing quite robust.

    Connectifity for Corsair K95

In terms of connectivity, the K95 RGB Platinum connects to the computer via two USB 2.0 ports gathered in a single braided sleeve to avoid too much clutter on the desk. One of the two USB cables is in fact used to provide a pass through port on the keyboard. This in order to connect a headset or a mouse, or even a USB key, for example.

No USB hub mode on the other hand, you have to be content with a single port. The K95 RGB Platinum also ignores the mini-jack sockets that could have been used to connect a headset.

Too bad, even if keyboards offering these additional sockets generally have the problem of being encumbered with an even thicker sheath to group all the cables.

    Control for Corsair K95

As for additional controls, we are delighted to find the row of multimedia keys above the numeric keypad. As well as the volume control wheel which overhangs it, which is contiguous to the mute button.

    Corsair K95 RGB image 1

On the left part of the upper strip, three other buttons are used to change profiles on the fly – see box at the end of the test. Modify the backlight intensity (3 levels or total deactivation) or  (deactivation of the Windows key and key combinations to be selected in the adjustment software).

    Good Impresion

The K95 RGB Platinum is unique in that it comes in two versions. One of which features the super fast Cherry MX Speed switches – first introduced with the K70 RGB Rapidfire. We have just tested this version, the other based on Cherry MX Brown touch switches, more classic and with a different feel.

The particularity of the MX Speed is that it activates after only 1.2mm of travel. Compared to 2mm for other Cherry MX switches – the total travel being reduced to 3.4mm, compared to the usual 4mm.

They are therefore more responsive and you can feel it when typing. Since it suffices to press the key lightly to trigger the activation.

The Cherry MX Speed however remains noisier than the Cherry MX Silent. The followers of silence will therefore always have difficulty using a mechanical keyboard such as this one. Even if we have known noisier in the genre.

Of course, high-end keyboard for gamers requires, the K95 RGB Platinum offers complete anti-ghosting with N-Key Rollover (NKRO). This in order to be able to activate all the keys on the keyboard at the same time, without misinterpretation.

    Corsair Utility Engine 2 software

The configuration software common to all Corsair peripherals evolves and goes to version 2. The interface is therefore more logical and allows. For each of the three available profiles, macros can be created and assigned to them.

To the keys of the keyboard of our choice, to configure several lighting effects and to choose which keys to deactivate when the game mode is engaged.

The K95 RGB Platinum can accommodate 3 customizable profiles in its 8MB internal memory. Allowing it to be used on another PC while retaining all of its settings.

    Corsair Download Software

Download driver Corsair K95 > Download

    Conclusion

Aesthetic, well-built, comfortable and responsive, the K95 RGB Platinum is a success. The removal of a few macro keys is, in our opinion. Not a big loss, although the heaviest users of these functions will be bound to be disappointed.

However, this makes it possible to reduce the size of the keyboard. Which becomes much less bulky and regains more classic proportions.

The integration of Cherry MX Speed switches on our test version will also delight fans of extreme responsiveness.

  • The Best Graphics Cards 2022 For Gaming

The Best Graphics Cards 2022 For Gaming

GAMING SUPPORT – What’s The Best Graphics Cards for the money right now?

Dive into our list and let us guide you to the best graphics cards for your needs.

The best graphics cards for 2022 can help you with your video editing or graphic design needs, as well as handle any graphically intensive game at high resolutions. And, there are some really impressive cards like the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 .

Unfortunately, AMD and Nvidia graphics cards are currently in short supply, leading to skyrocketing prices on the used market. The latest cards in the AMD RDNA 2 and Nvidia Ampere lineup are definitely worth it, but you’ll want to make sure you’re picking the right card before you drop hundreds of dollars.

Whichever direction you take, whether you’re upgrading your old gaming laptop or building your own PC , you need one of the best GPUs for an immersive and seamless experience with the best PC games or the most demanding content creation software. Take a look at our list to find the solution that suits you best.

    Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 Ti

Let’s not forget that the RTX 2060 Super is, for all intents and purposes, the opposite number of the RTX 3060 Ti for the RTX 30 series. The price tags of both cards match at launch, at €449 , but the significant pull of the RTX 3060 Ti to RTX 2080 Super performance again shows the tremendous generational leap introduced with the Ampere architecture. RTX 3060 TI SPECIFICATIONS

The RTX 3060 Ti has a decent 1665MHz boost clock, rendered partially useless due to Nvidia’s GPU Boost technology, which will often see this GPU far exceed that under load – around 1875MHz on average. This makes it the fastest in the RTX 30 series to date.

This is also a Founders Edition reference card, so we’re not considering out-of-the-box overclocking. However, the general availability of the Founders Edition coincides with the launch of the third-party AIB RTX 3060 Ti (December 2, 2020), so keep an eye out for OC models if you want to push things a bit further.

    Specifications for RTX 3060 Ti

    Stream Processors4,864
Basic Clock1.41 GHz (1.67 GHz boost)
    Memory8 GB GDDR6
    Memory Clock14 Gbps
    Exits HDMI2.1, 3x DisplayPort 1.4a
Power Connectors1x PCIe 8 pin (adapter to 1x 12 pin included)

However, you’ll miss the Founders Edition shroud if you do. It’s pretty much the same cooler design as the RTX 3070, which makes it comparable to my personal favorite of the lot, but it differs in one minor way: the tone of the metallic finish on the RTX 3060 Ti is considerably more lighter than dark gray for the three 30-series cards above.

It just pushes the RTX 3060 Ti to the top of the leaderboard in my eyes, but that’s purely an aesthetic shake-up. Both offer much the same quiet and cool operation as the others, equipped with the Nvidia-branded heatsink and smart cutout cooler, and they also use the new compact 12-pin power connector. Don’t worry, there’s only one 8-pin to 12-pin adapter included in the box.

    Peformance RTX 3060 Ti

Still, these are mostly cosmetic changes, and while this cooler provides more than adequate cooling power. It’s the redesign of the rasterized rendering pipeline through the Ampere architecture that is the architect of its performance. The details of which you can read more about in our Nvidia RTX 3080 review, but again for those on the back.

Each streaming multiprocessor, or SM, in Nvidia’s RTX 30 GPUs received double the number of floating point units (FP32) compared to previous generations of GPUs . The advantage is greater parallelism and the ability to not only switch between integer and floating point operations depending on the workload. But also to use more FP32 units when there is fewer entire operations required. This happens a lot in games, hence the change.

FP32 units within a given GPU are also what Nvidia counts as the CUDA Core total for each GPU specification. So when comparing the RTX 30 series with the RTX 20 series. The reality of such an architectural split becomes very clear.

    Cores

Where you might expect a card closer to the RTX 2060 Super’s 2,176 core count, we’re now looking at the 4,854 CUDA Core RTX 3060. The same could be said for the opposite number of 4,352 CUDA Core RTX 2080 Ti (sort of). The RTX 3090, equipped with 10,752 CUDA cores.

It’s all been an efficient experiment in GPU topology too, with the existing RTX 30-series GPUs managing to dominate their RTX 20-series counterparts. And I’m happy to report that the RTX 3060 Ti is no different . But we will get there.

    Capacity RAM

With 8GB of GDDR6 capacity and a free 256-bit memory bus. The RTX 3060 Ti is capable of an overall memory bandwidth of 448GB/s, which matches the RTX 3070 in every way. only possible concern for any potential buyer of the spec list that I can point out with possible dismay.

It’s not that an 8GB memory capacity apparently has much of an impact on gaming performance right now. Not to say that it will not be the case at one time or another.

I won’t talk too much about unsubstantiated rumors in a review, but we’ve heard several rumors of as-yet-unannounced RTX 30-series cards with higher memory capacities than currently available. Including an RTX 3080 with 20GB of VRAM, an RTX 3080 Ti with 20 GB of VRAM, and even an RTX 3060 with up to 12 GB of VRAM.

It’s hardly proof of anything, I have to admit. But that makes me wonder if this is just reflexive action in light of AMD’s 16GB (and possibly 12GB) RX 6000 series graphics cards. Or if there’s a dark cloud which is approaching for those of us who own cards with, perhaps, say, modest memory capacities and overall bandwidth .

    Conclusion

Every game developer I’ve spoken to has been keen to make better use of larger high-speed memory stores for more elaborate textures and the like chance. Scalability is still the name of the game for almost every stage of development, and not in the least for PC games.

But as I said, that’s not so much a reality that we have to face today. The RTX 3060 Ti manages to maintain a stable gallop in modern games at 1080p, 1440p and even 4K. Which is the first time I think we can safely say that of an xx60 level graphics card without hissing laborious or serious warnings.

  • Cooler Master CK530 V2 Review And Software Support

    Cooler Master CK530

Introduce Keyboard Cooler Master CK530 V2

The Cooler Master CK530 V2 has one of the best value for money if you are looking for a TKL keyboard. Despite its affordable price, it offers a solid design, a refined design and convincing performance.

For gamers on a budget, this is an excellent candidate to equip themselves with a compact and efficient mechanical keyboard.

    Cooler Master CK530 V2 review

With a price displayed below € 90 , the Cooler Master CK530 V2 has positioned itself as one of the cheapest TKL keyboards in the sector. It takes here the basics of the first generation, with however a move to TTC mechanical switches and the addition of a palm rest.

For the rest, there is always a reinforced aluminum frame, customizable RGB lighting or even “floating” design keys.

The model comes in competition with the Corsair K63 ( about 85 € ), which is satisfied with a plastic frame and a red backlight, but which takes advantage of additional buttons to manage its media.

See Also : Cooler Master Hyper 212 Black Edition Review

If we go upmarket, the CK530 V2 finds itself opposed to major competitors, like the Fnatic MiniStreak ( around € 110 ), the Logitech G Pro ( around € 130 ) or the Roccat Vulcan TKL Pro and its optical switches ( around 140 € ).

Can it join our selection of the best TKL gaming keyboards ? Answer after ten days at his side.

    Design & Ergonomics

For the price displayed, the Cooler Master keyboard has a rather neat design and at first glance the whole does not necessarily have much to envy to some much more expensive models.

    Cooler Master CK530

    Without a numeric keypad, the CK530 V2 displays a relatively compact size with dimensions of 380 x 135 x 40 mm for a total weight of approximately 740 g.

Without buttons directly dedicated to media or sound volume, it is less bulky than the Corsair K70 RGB TKL that we presented to you recently and is therefore more discreet when placed on a desk.

    A cheap TKL gaming keyboard

As for the finishes, the keyboard is based on a black plastic frame surmounted by a brushed aluminum plate reinforcing its structure. The set resists well under significant pressure or torsion, where other models positioned at a similar price show their limit more quickly.

The model also stands out from the competition by the format of its chassis, with flared side facades bringing a little distinctive touch to this CK530. Visually it is quite successful, although the brushed aluminum surface may not be to the liking of all players.

At the back of the keyboard, there are 4 rubber pads to provide correct stability to the whole. Two retractable legs can be unfolded to adjust its height and inclination. Only one position is available and it seems to us a bit high to be really comfortable over time.

The keyboard has two retractable feet

On the key side, the CK530 opts for a floating, borderless design. This offers an “airy” side to the keyboard, while promoting the diffusion of its backlighting.

The keycaps, here we must be satisfied with models in ABS and not in PBT as on the keyboards a little more upscale. Not necessarily ideal in the long term, but it’s up to you to replace them with better quality models. In particular, we can find doubleshot PBT kits of different colors at Corsair for around thirty euros.

    ABS Keycaps

Keyboard TKL requires, many keys are accompanied by secondary actions accessible in combination with the Fn key. We can in particular manage the RGB lighting effects from the F1 to F8 keys, record Macros with the F11 and F12 keys, switch from one profile to another using the 1 to 4 keys or even manage the sound volume and its media via the keys positioned above the directional arrows.

On the connection side, the CK530 V2 comes with a sheathed cable with a length of 1.8 m, unfortunately fixed on its upper edge. We would have preferred a removable USB-C cable, but once again you have to know how to accept certain sacrifices to keep a price below the € 90 mark.

Finally, last point to note concerning the design of the keyboard: the presence of a palm rest. Unlike the Fnatic MiniStreak or the Corsair K63 Wireless, it does not attach to the keyboard but only position itself in front of it. If its foam design is relatively simple, it can provide additional comfort and it is clearly a little more appreciable.

    Cooler Master software

While many options can be configured directly from the keyboard shortcuts, the Cooler Master CK530 V2 remains compatible with the Cooler Master MasterPlus software. It is available for download from the manufacturer’s site .

From the first tab, you can configure the RGB lighting of the keyboard. There are many predefined effects here, most of which have the ability to manage direction and speed.

Adjustment of RGB lighting from Cooler Master software

It is also possible to customize the color of each of the keys individually, but the option seems to be prone to a few issues. Many keys can be selected in pairs and some are not selectable at all. Small bugs that should be able to be corrected via an update.

The second “Mapping” tab allows you to modify the actions of the different keys on the keyboard. The constructor offers several lists of actions but it is also possible to create more complex macros. On the other hand, it is not possible to record secondary actions in combination with the Fn key and that is a bit of a shame.

    Key mapping can be configured

The third tab of the software lists the different recorded macros and allows you to edit them. Finally, the fourth and last tab allows you to manage up to 4 profiles and assign an exe in order to load them automatically according to its games or applications.

Overall, the Cooler Master software would in our opinion deserve a good facelift and some fixes.

The interface is not really intuitive and the features offered are not as complete as with some competitors, especially on the side of Razer, Corsair or Logitech.

Cooler Master Software Support > Get File Download

    Performances

To accompany this V2, the CK530 abandons mechanical switches from Gateron in favor of models from TTC. The keyboard is offered with a choice of Red, Brown or Blue models, but only the first variant seems to be available in France for the moment.

As on Cherry MX Red, we are therefore here on linear switches, with a total stroke of 4 mm, activation at 2 mm and a force of 45 g. The lifespan is for its part announced at 50 million activations.

    Expectasy in Use

In use and despite our doubts about switching to these TTC switches, the keyboard offers a rather convincing typing quality. Faced with the Cherry MX that we find on the Corsair K63 Wireless, the Cooler Master CK530 has frankly nothing to be ashamed of. On the contrary, we even prefer the feeling of this model, with a softer activation.

The various stabilizers are also all well lubricated and contribute to the general comfort of the strike.

    Noise Level

Our only regret is in the noise level, especially on the hits a little more supported where the chassis resonates a little.

Unfortunately, this is often and the problem can be largely alleviated by sliding a foam board or even a piece of cloth under the PCB.

To get a better idea, do not hesitate to consult our video at the top of the page or via our YouTube channel.

    Conclusion

If you’re in the market for a TKL keyboard and you’re on a budget, the Cooler Master CK530 V2 is clearly a great candidate.

Offered under the € 90 mark , it should be able to meet the needs of a large majority of players with a well-crafted design, a solid design and a more than correct typing quality.

Obviously at this price all is not perfect and the manufacturer makes some concessions, in particular with a fixed cable or keycaps in ABS. The software is also not very convincing, but most of the options can be configured from the keyboard.

If you can get past these small flaws, it is definitely recommended for gamers looking for a compact keyboard with unbeatable value for money.

  • Logitech K750 Keyboard Perfect for Typing

    Logitech K750 image

    Logitech K750 Keyboard Impresion

Awireless keyboard that recharges using ambient light, this is the originality of the K750 Solar from the manufacturer Logitech. Simple gadget or quality keyboard? Here are our impressions.

Among the myriad of keyboards that Logitech offers, the K750 Solar stands out with its solar panel charging technology, it captures ambient light (solar or artificial) and its battery charges without needing to be plugged in.

Available for a little less than 100 €, and regularly on sale around 80 €, the K750 made a strong impression when it was released in 2010. Since solar charging is today, even more than before, in the air. time, let’s see if its construction and typing quality make it a keyboard that has remained modern.

    Design For Logitech K750

The K750 Solar sports a rounded design and unfortunately all-plastic chassis. This one bends (too) easily under pressure and doesn’t feel very solid. The shiny coating is not a priori unpleasant, but in use, we quickly understand its limits: it easily retains dust, fingerprints and is easily scratched.

    Logitech K750

The keyboard is very thin (barely 7.6 mm) and the presence of solar panels above the keys significantly increases its depth, which reaches 15.9 cm.

In the absence of palm rest, however, it does not take up too much space on a desk. Allow 43.2 cm for its total width.

    Button for logitech K750

Most of the keys on the keyboard are slightly curved to better accommodate the fingers, but others – like the function keys or those at the bottom of the keyboard (Space, Windows, Ctrl, etc.) re curved, which allows them to be differentiated touch.

The function keys are adorned with a few multimedia or classic shortcuts to the calculator or emails, for example.

See Also : Logitech MK345 Comfort Wireless Keyboard and Mouse

Above the numeric keypad is the On / Off button and a key decorated with a small sun. Coupled with two small smileys , it indicates whether the level of brightness is sufficient to charge the keyboard.

A green LED lights up if this is the case, and a red LED lights up if the panels do not receive enough light.

    Connection for Logitech K750

The K750 works wirelessly. Logitech announces 3 months of use in the dark with a fully charged battery. In practice this should not happen, and the keyboard should be able to recharge on most desktops, especially since using the keyboard in dim light is difficult due to the lack of backlighting.

Logitech explains that this would consume too much energy compared to that provided by the light. It’s a shame, but that’s often the case with wireless keyboards anyway.

If you absolutely want to know the percentage of remaining battery, the dedicated software Solar App from Logitech is free to download. This little app doubles as a light meter, not really useful for most people, but you never know.

Finally, the manufacturer has not inserted any space to house the small Unifying dongle , yet present on many other models of the brand and very practical not to lose this small connector when transporting the keyboard.

    Interest for Logitech K750

On this keyboard, Logitech has opted for scissor switches, classic on this type of thin keyboards. Typing is a bit soft and you have to exert some force on the keys to activate them.

Nothing really bad, however, and the strike has the merit of being silent, except on the space bar which is, as often, much more audible.

    Conclusion

While the Logitech K750 Solar is a wireless solar keyboard that’s not outdated, it’s starting to make its age felt, especially with its average build quality, materials used, and lack of backlighting.

The only element that sets it apart from other office keyboards remains its solar panels and its theoretically unlimited autonomy. A sustainable aspect that makes sense, especially in an electronics sector undermined by product obsolescence.

For a few euros more, the MX Keys from the same manufacturer or the Microsoft Surface seem to us to be better options in terms of ergonomics and functionalities

    STRONG POINTS

    • 100% solar charge.
    • Almost unlimited autonomy.
    • Wireless.
    • Quiet.

    WEAK POINTS

    • Medium construction and all plastic.
    • Glossy coating that marks easily.
    • Weak feet.
    • No storage for the Unifying receiver.

    RAZER OROCHI V2 REVIEW

The Razer Orochi V2 is a compact and ultralight mouse, capable of operating wirelessly via Bluetooth or 2.4 Ghz. Compared to the previous Orochi, its ergonomics are improved and its design can be customized from the Razer site.

The mouse is positioned as an alternative to the Logitech G305 and Corsair Katar Pro Wireless, with a much more contained weight but a higher price at 79.99 €.

    Razer Orochi V2 review

If you are looking for a wireless and lightweight gaming mouse, you should generally look to ones with an internal rechargeable battery. Problem, the vast majority of models available are offered above the 100 € bar ( G Pro X Superlight , Viper Ultimate , Prime Wireless).

Razer Orochi V2 – Test and opinion on the brand’s new wireless gaming mouse
With the Razer Orochi V2, the manufacturer hopes to change the situation and offers for the first time a mouse combining lightness and battery power. Enough to overshadow the famous Logitech G305 or the most recent SteelSeries Rival 3 Wireless .

    Design & Ergonomics

If we recently had the opportunity to present you with very compact mice with the Razer Viper Mini , Xtrfy M42 and other Cooler Master MM710 , the new Razer Orochi V2 goes even further. With dimensions of 108 x 60 x 38 mm, it is positioned as one of the most compact mice in the sector and only the recent Xtrfy MZ1 comes close to its size.

In reality, this format can be explained by the very DNA of the Orochi range, initially designed to meet the needs of the most mobile gamers, and in particular laptop PC users.

To believe the visuals offered by the brand, this Orochi V2 retains this idea, but many “ Desktop” players are now also looking for this compactness giving them better handling.

And precisely, with its rounded shape more commonly called “Egg Shape”, the new mouse from Razer is an example of comfort and handling. Compared to the previous version, this V2 displays much more worked symmetrical lines and you quickly feel at ease once your hand is placed on it.

The Orochi V2 against the competition

If with its contained dimensions we will not necessarily recommend it for Palm Grip aficionados , in Claw Grip or Fingertips the Orochi V2 works miracles.

The grip is stable, secure and comfortable enough to chain parts without feeling discomfort or pain.

Its light weight also limits fatigue while making it easier for the mouse to move around when playing with reduced sensitivity.

    Razer Orochi V2 ergonomics

The weight precisely, let’s talk about it. Razer announces on its technical sheet only 60 g for this new Orochi, but this is a measurement made without its battery. And as it is necessarily necessary to add one, this indication is more misleading than anything else.

Here, the brand offers several options. By removing the upper shell of the mouse, there are indeed two locations allowing you to choose between an AA or AAA battery.

Also, note that unlike the competition, the locations here are inclined so as to better distribute the total weight of the mouse. Rather well seen!

Mouse is powered by one AA or AAA battery

Also under the shell, we will note the presence of an insert for storing the USB dongle so as not to lose it when traveling.

With the AA lithium battery in the box, we arrive at a weight of 74 g. If it is more than the 60 g announced by Razer, it remains well below a Logitech G305 at 99g (AA alkaline battery) or a Corsair Katar Pro Wireless at 96 g (AA alkaline battery).

In practice, the mouse is closer to wireless models incorporating a battery. Such as the Glorious Model O Wireless at 69 g, the SteelSeries Aerox 3 Wireless at 66 g or the Razer Viper Ultimate at 74 g.

    Mouse shell can be customized

In practice, the rendering of its personalized cases is quite clean and allows the mouse to stand out a little more from the competition. On the other hand, it will take 20 € more for these custom models, pushing up the bill to 99 €. It stings a bit.

On the controls side, the Orochi V2 goes to the essentials with 5 programmable buttons and its dial. The two main clicks are equipped with switches designed in collaboration with the Kailh brand and offer a perfectly responsive activation.

No post or pre-travel to report, nor any horizontal play.

    Mouse buttons are all responsive

The dial has its side of notches rather well marked and its use is again very pleasant. Behind, a last button allows by default to navigate between its different DPI levels and a light indicator allows you to check the selected sensitivity.

Also, if you are using Razer Synapse, a popup will briefly appear in the corner of your screen with your DPI level. Since the mouse is mainly designed for right-handed players, only the left front has two side buttons.

Despite a fairly thin design, they remain perfectly accessible and benefit from a straightforward and responsive activation. It changes the somewhat “soft” clicks of the Logitech G Pro X Superlight for example.

    PTFE pads provide good glide

At the rear, the mouse has two large PTFE pads and a third surrounding the optical sensor. The glide is very correct and we enjoy excellent handling in combination with its light weight and wireless connection.

Still on the base of the mouse, there is also a switch to switch between the different wireless connection modes.

    Connection & Autonomy

Unlike a G305, the Razer Orochi V2 has two wireless connection modes: via Bluetooth or 2.4 Ghz using a USB dongle. These are also its only connection modes, since it is not possible to use it wired.

The 2.4 Ghz mode allows you to enjoy a wireless connection without the slightest latency and it is obviously the one we favor when gaming.

During our tests, nothing to complain about the reliability of the connection but we would still have appreciated finding a USB extension in order to be able to bring it closer to your mouse.

The dongle for the 2.4 Ghz wireless connection

The Bluetooth connection can be used to connect the Orochi V2 without going through the USB dongle. As often, this connection can generate a certain latency and we recommend it only for office automation or games that do not require perfect responsiveness.

As for the autonomy, it is difficult to give you a precise figure because the results can vary widely depending on the connection mode but also on the type of battery used.

With the AA lithium battery provided in the box, Razer advertises up to 950 hours in Bluetooth and 425 hours in 2.4 Ghz mode.

    Switch Connection Modes

A switch allows you to switch between the two wireless connection modes
Obviously, with an alkaline AA battery as well as a smaller capacity AAA battery, keep in mind that these results will have to be revised downwards.

To get a better idea of the autonomy of the mouse according to your usage habits, Razer offers on its site a small utility to facilitate this calculation.

Finally, note that the mouse only works wirelessly.

    Razer Synapse software

The mouse is compatible with Razer Synapse software, which you can download for free from the manufacturer’s website. From there, you can create different configuration profiles according to your games or applications and load them automatically.

From the “Customize” tab, it is possible to modify the mapping of all the buttons of the Orochi V2, except that of the left click. The brand offers a rather comprehensive list of actions, but it is also possible to create your own macros.

There is also the option “HyperShift”, which allows to assign a secondary action to the buttons of the mouse. To access it, you will need to assign the “HyperShift” command to one of the buttons and then hold it down to switch to secondary actions. Enough to double the number of shortcuts in the blink of an eye.

Last feature of this tab: device synchronization detailed a little earlier in our article.

    Software and Manual Guide Support

    Software Support And manual guide

    Feature for Raccot Orochi V2

From the “Performance” tab, it is possible to adjust up to 5 sensitivity levels between 100 and 18,000 DPI with a step of 100 DPI. You can also configure the polling rate up to 1000 Hz.

There is then a tab to calibrate the sensor according to its mouse pad as well as options related to the power supply. Here we can in particular set an automatic standby time or activate a “Low consumption” mode from a certain percentage of autonomy.

    Sensor

The mouse has a Razer 5G optical sensor. It is probably a variant of the PixArt PMW3335, capable of climbing up to 18,000 DPI, handling speeds of 450 IPS and accelerations of 50G.

In use and as is often the case, not much to complain about on this side. The mouse responds perfectly to the slightest movements and impossible to unhook the sensor for the common people.

    Razer Sphex 3

To accompany the release of its Orochi V2, Razer has also unveiled a new Sphex V3 mouse pad. It is also a very compact and above all very thin model, with dimensions of 270 x 215 mm for a thickness of only 0.4 mm.

As with the mouse of the day, it is designed to be easily carried in a bag or laptop bag for example. It has a rigid gliding surface and its grippy base helps stabilize it when placed on a desk.

    Conclusion

This Razer Orochi V2 is a nice surprise! Comfortable, manoeuvrable and versatile, it is placed like a competitor of size vis-a-vis the Logitech G305.

Lighter than its opponent, it should be able to appeal to FPS players but also office-oriented users thanks to the addition of a Bluetooth connection.

    GOOD POINTS

    •  Compact and lightweight
    •  Excellent comfort
    •  Dual wireless connection
    •  Customizable case
    •  General performance

    NEGATIVE POINTS

    •  High price
    •  No wired connection
    •  Slightly thin side buttons
  • ROCCAT Burst Pro Extreme Lightweight Review, Software Update, Manual Guide

    ROCCAT Burst Pro

    ROCCAT BURST PRO

The Roccat Burst Pro offers excellent value for money if you are looking for a light and efficient mouse. Between its light weight, its perfectly flexible cable or its optical switches, it brilliantly combines performance and maneuverability while remaining affordable under the bar of 60 € .

Even cheaper, its little sister the Core version is a great alternative for players on a tighter budget.

    Roccat Burst Pro Test

Ultralight mice are in fashion and Roccat seems determined to get his share of the pie back. After the very good Kone Pure Ultra and its 66 g on the scale, the manufacturer unveils two new models with the Roccat Burst Pro and Burst Core . The two mice have an identical size, with symmetrical ergonomics and a total weight of 68 g.

At just € 29.99 , the Burst Core is the cheaper of the two and is positioned as the most affordable ultralight mouse on the market. It is equipped with an 8500 DPI PixArt PMW3330 sensor, Roccat Titan optical switches and a standard cable.

See Also : Roccat Kone AIMO Remastered Review And Test

The Burst Pro model, which we focus on today, presents a technical sheet revised upwards. The mouse has an excellent sensor derived from the PixArt PMW3389, a much more flexible paracord cable , RGB lighting or even heat-treated pads.

This Pro version is offered at a price of 59.99 € and competes with the Razer Viper Mini , the Cooler Master MM711 or the Endgame Gear XM1 .

Can it find a place in the very competitive ultra-light mouse sector? Answer after ten days at his side.

    Design & Ergonomics

The Roccat Burst Pro has symmetrical ergonomics, but its design is not ambidextrous. Without a button positioned on its right facade, it mainly targets right-handed players and possibly left-handed players, favoring fingertips grip .

As for the Kone Pure Ultra , we are therefore here on a so-called ultralight mouse, with a total weight of 68 g. As is often the case, the design is based on a perforated frame, but Roccat has chosen to cover it with a translucent coating.

A choice that in theory allows to limit dust and other dirt within the mouse, while promoting the diffusion of the backlight. Visually, it is quite successful and it changes a bit from what we are used to seeing in recent months in the sector.

    Dimension of Roccat Burst Pro

In terms of dimensions, the Burst Pro displays an average size. With a length of 120mm, a maximum width of 58mm and a height of 38mm, it should be able to fit most players.

Its shape is somewhat reminiscent of what we had discovered on the Endgame Gear XM1, with an upper part neither too flat nor too domed and slightly flared sides on the rear.

The mouse seems to be able to adapt to the majority of grips, whether you are more a fan of Claw Grip , Palm Grip or even Fingertips , even if we recommend more compact models like the Viper Mini. .

Comfort and handling of the Roccat Burst Pro

On our side, comfort is at the rendezvous and it is possible to chain hours of gaming without feeling particular fatigue alongside this Burst Pro. Obviously, each user has their own preferences and it remains difficult to be completely objective on this point.

Now place the mouse buttons. We find on the upper part the two main clicks, with Roccat Titan optical switches. A good surprise for a proposed mouse, we remind you that it is below the € 60 mark.

The two main buttons have Roccat Titan optical switches

In use, these optical switches are perfectly responsive and eliminate the bounce delay of traditional mechanical switches. The activation is straightforward and well marked, with good sound feedback. Their durability is also superior, with up to 100 million activation according to Roccat.

It remains obviously difficult to verify in practice, especially after only ten days alongside the mouse.

On the side of the wheel, there are well marked notches as well as an RGB lighting zone. In use, the latter is particularly comfortable, but we will still note a little play on our model. Because of this, the wheel sometimes shifts to the side and it remains difficult to say if this problem is related to our model or not.

In use, however, this does not prevent its proper use. You can consult our video to better understand the “problem”.

    Ergonomics for Roccat Burst Pro

As explained a little earlier, if the mouse has symmetrical ergonomics, only the left facade has buttons. Quite impressive, they are easy to access and again offer reactive activation. A good job from Roccat.

    ROCCAT Burst Pro

Still on the side facades, we note the presence of a slightly textured honeycomb coating. It provides a little extra grip , even if it remains here much more subtle than a real rubber coating for example.

On the cable side, the Roccat Burst Pro opts for a model called PhantomFlex . This is a particularly soft and flexible paracord model and it is clearly better than what the manufacturer presented us on its Roccat Kone Pure Ultra. Here it does not interfere with the movements of the mouse and we can without any problem bypass a bungee.

The paracord cable is very flexible

Last point to emphasize concerning the construction of this Burst Pro: its skates. Roccat opts here for heat-treated PTFE models. The brand does not necessarily specify the advantages that this brings to the use, but it is clear that the mouse offers one of the best glides in the sector.

Performances of the Roccat Burst Pro

To get a better idea of the in-game performance of the mouse, the Burst Pro has mainly been tested on different FPS such as Call of Duty: Warzone, Diabotical or Valorant. If the youngest of Roccat did not transform us into a pro-gamer overnight, she is terribly effective and allows you to play in optimal conditions.

The Burst Pro offers excellent tracking with its efficient optical sensor
With its light weight, flexible cable and very good glide, it adapts perfectly to players who are used to playing with low sensitivity. Combined with a good TKL keyboard, you can perform large and precise movements in a perfectly fluid way.

The buttons are also very responsive and provide a good feeling of confidence upon activation. Again it’s all good and not much to complain about this Burst Pro.

    Roccat Swarm software

On the functional side, the Roccat Burst Pro is compatible with the Roccat Swarm software. You can create up to 5 configuration profiles and load them automatically according to your games or applications.

Roccat Support Software and manual guide

The tool makes it possible in particular to manage the different levels of sensitivity of the sensor, here from 100 to 16,000 DPI with a step of 50 DPI.

From the “Assignment of keys” tab, we can remap the 8 mouse buttons by counting the scrolling up and down of the wheel. Roccat offers some configuration examples but it is possible to choose the actions of your choice or to create your own macros.

Configuration of EasyShift + buttons and options

Each button can also have an alternative command via the EasyShift [+] functionality. This makes it possible to double the number of mouse shortcuts and it is rather practical on certain MMORPGs or for office automation for example.

The “Lighting” tab is used to manage the RGB effects of the mouse. Here we find the usual modes of the brand and we must admit that it is a little less complete than in the competition. A single zone is configurable, including both the lighting of the wheel and those present under the translucent shell.

    Roccat AIMO RGB lighting

In use, the lights are nevertheless successful and benefit above all from a beautiful light. Alongside the recent Roccat Vulcan TKL Pro keyboard, it has its small effect.

The last tab “Advanced parameters” brings some additional options, including the possibility of adjusting the polling rate from 125 to 1000 Hz or to manage the lift-off distance on two levels or to calibrate it according to your mouse pad.

    Conclusion

The Roccat Burst Pro is a very nice surprise! After a convincing Kone Pure Ultra but not free from flaws, the manufacturer corrects the situation and positions its new mouse as an excellent alternative to the ultralight models already established on the market.

At 59.99 € , it has one of the best quality / price ratios in the sector by offering a well-designed model and above all without the slightest concession. At this price, it is the only one to combine a light weight, optical switches, a paracord cable , RGB lighting or even an irreproachable optical sensor.

If you have a tighter budget, the Burst Core is also interesting under the 30 € mark . We lose some of the advantages of the Pro model, with a more classic cable, less RGB and a less efficient optical sensor, but we keep comfortable ergonomics, optical switches and its weight of 68 g.
