    MSI GeForce GT 710 Specifications

It is a dual-width card that connects to the motherboard via the PCIe 2.0 x8 interface. It measures 14.7 x 2 x 7 cm for about 200 grams. Its GPU operates at 954 MHz and incorporates 2 GB of 1.6 GHz DDR3 memory for a bandwidth of 14.4 Gb / s. The memory bus used is 64 bits.

The card consumes 19 Watts. The minimum recommended power supply for the PC using the GeForce GT 710 is 300 Watts. This card provides a maximum resolution of 4096 x 2160 at 24 Hz. This card supports DirectX 12 technology, Nvidia PhysX , 3DVision and FXAA .

The GeForce GT 710 card has 192 shader processors with its 915 million transistors. The GPU was etched with a 28-nanometer manufacturing process. As for the texturing speed, it is 15.26. To compare it with the Radeon RX 6900 XT , the latter has a texturing speed of 771.2. When it comes to floating point performance, the Geforce GT 710 is at 366.3 gflops.

Advantages provided by these different technologies supported by the GT 710

The DirectX 12 allows the CPU to be multitasking for graphics processing. The tasks will be processed fairly quickly. This makes it possible to achieve a high level of performance. This technology makes it possible, among other things, to record parallel tasks and non synchronous shaders in the buffer memory.

Because of this, the different CPU cores can communicate with the GPU. With DirectX 11 technology, graphics processing tasks were bundled on a single CPU core, causing processing latency.

    Supports PhysX

The GT 710 also supports PhysX. It is a physics engine allowing real time physical effects to be enjoyed in video games. It was created in 2005 by the AGEIA Company then bought by Nvidia in 2008. It is adopted in various game platforms such as Xbox 360, Xbox One, PC, Nitendo Wii, PS3, PS4, Apple IOS, Android etc.

It also provides hardware acceleration for processors with CUDAs, more than 32 cores, and dedicated 256MB graphics memory. In this case, the PPU or GPU takes over in some calculations, which will allow the CPU to process other tasks. This allows for a smooth and smooth graphic rendering.

Indeed, the machine is less prone to saturation.

    3DVision

The 3DVision allows stereoscopic vision. It is a kit which is specially designed for LCD screens and certain CRT screens operating at 120 Hz. As for the FXAA, it is an antialiasing system developed by Nvidia in response to AMD’s MLAA.

It is a post processing shader allowing to analyze junction zones between 2 distinct surfaces and to treat only very different zones. This allows a significant time saving for graphics cards that do not have a high computing power.

The advantages of the card provided by MSI

MSI ensures the quality of components, especially capacitors. This allows the manufacturer to provide a 2 year warranty. The estimated lifespan is in fact around 10 years under full charge.

The temperature is controlled and the efficiency is improved. The ESR is all the lower. Although the maximum temperature is 95 ° C, heat dissipation is provided by the heatsink completely covering the GPU and the integrated memory.

Suddenly, the fans of the PC will not panic to refresh the card. This avoids noise pollution and ensures a pleasant environment during your gaming sessions.

The card is in ” Low Profile Format “. It can therefore be installed even in a fairly small box. This GT 710 card promises to be versatile and easy to install.

    Software Support

Additionally, MSI provides utilities that automatically download drivers, eliminating the need for additional research. They thus make it possible to avoid, among other things, fishing and hacking.

This card allows multi-screen management as it offers 3 graphics outputs : VGA, HDMI and DVI. This card can therefore be used to upgrade old PCs without an HDMI output.

This would make it possible to extend the lifespan of certain CPUs which will find a new vocation with this newly installed card. Additionally, for Linux system enthusiasts, this card is fully supported. The Linux driver is provided and maintained by Nvidia.

    GT 710 performance

The GT 710 is the generation planned to replace the GT 610. Here is a benchmarking comparing the performance of these two generations on 3D Mark. On G3D Mark, the GT 710 posted a score of 638. The Radeon RX 5700 XT got a score of 16702.For the GT 710, the chipset frequency is 954 MHz while it is 810 MHz for the GT 610.

For the GT 710 generation, the memory components switch at 1.6 GHz while the switching frequency was at 1 GHz for version 610. However, both versions have VGA, DVI and HDMI outputs.

If we use this card for cryptocurrency mining, it will have a speed of 21 Mh / s for one BTC (SHA256). Which means 21 million solutions generated per second.

    Finally For GT 710

In short, the Geforce GT 710 card is an entry-level graphics card. It is especially appreciated by the fact that it has 3 graphics outputs including VGA, DVI and HDMI. It thus makes it possible to upgrade old CPUs which only have one VGA output. It is also distinguished by the fact that it can support certain new functionalities such as DirectX 12.

This is an undeniable advantage, since the tasks relating to graphics processing can be processed simultaneously by the CPU cores. You can buy this card on Amazon for the modest sum of $ 40.

  • Test The Roccat Tyon, a mouse ready to take off

    Test The Roccat Tyon

    Presentation

The Roccat Tyon. When it comes to mice, it’s hard to reinvent the wheel. This does not prevent manufacturers from trying welcome developments, especially in the field of mice for gamers. Roccat is trying a new experience with the Tyon, with a palette of customizable buttons and an analog stick to manage movements in height in addition to the traditional laser sensor. A mouse for flight simulation enthusiasts?

Design and Ergonomic  The Roccat Tyon

Result of Test The Roccat Tyon From the first grip, a familiar feeling sets in. And for good reason, the Tyon resumes the general shape and approaches the dimensions of the Kone XTD . The arrangement of its many buttons allows to consider a good modularity in the games. The backlighting is limited to the wheel and a border around the base of the mouse

The thumbhole is nice, but is intended exclusively for right-handed people. The sides are made of granular plastic, to ensure a firm grip, while the palm rest and the two main buttons benefit from a softer coating. Nothing to say, it’s classic.

    Test The Roccat Tyon

13.5 cm long and 7.8 cm wide, that’s what it takes for a good grip and long playing sessions. The glide is ensured by two large Teflon pads at the front and on the back of the mouse. It is impeccable on fabrics, silicone or hard carpets. On the weight side, we are at 130 grams, a well weighted mouse but not too heavy either.

    Buttons for Roccat Kone Pure

It is on the side of the buttons that the Tyon stands out. In addition to the two main buttons of the click wheel, there are also two buttons on each side of the main ones, a right and left button under the wheel, an EasyShift + button at the base of the mouse on the left and finally the analog stick above the two buttons under the thumb.

As usual, the Omron mechanical switches on the buttons are responsive. Remember that the EasyShift + function allows you to assign two commands to each button and to switch between them via the dedicated button.

    Input Device The Roccat Tyon

The analog stick (the X-Celerator) is recognized as a joystick via Direct Input (the API that manages input devices). It can therefore be used by all games that recognize controllers. For use on Battlefield 4 , for example, we have abandoned the joystick, until then only reserved for the helicopter, to keep only the mouse. Be careful, we still have a few small complaints: the EasyShift + button, badly placed under the thumb, is sometimes activated inadvertently. The right / left button above the mouse turns out to be quite difficult to reach with your fingertips, but you end up getting used to activating it with a knuckle, even if it is not very natural at first.

    Precision The Roccat Tyon

Unsurprisingly, there is communication up to 1000 Hz with the PC for formidable precision. It is also possible to decrease the frequency to 500 or 125 Hz for use on older PCs.

Our test protocol measures the number of meters / second that a mouse can absorb, but does not give the maximum value just what can be done with a human arm.

With its 8200 dpi laser sensor, it is impossible to fault the Tyon with the strength of our little arms. The mouse collected up to 7.4 m / s with our test software. It is therefore prepared for any brutal movement in play; no worries on that side.

    Conclusion The Roccat Tyon

After Test The Roccat Tyon, Relatively specialized for flight simulators, the Roccat Tyon can however perfectly adapt to any type of game. With a more than reasonable amount of programmable buttons and its analog stick, the latest from Roccat also offers a comfortable grip. It is in any case the most versatile gaming mouse on the market.

  • AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT Test, software, manual guide

AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT test: a graphics card that ticks on raytracing

The Radeon RX 6600 XT is positioned by AMD as an ideal graphics card for gaming in good conditions on a Full HD monitor. A model which therefore aims to overshadow its direct rival, the GeForce RTX 3060.

The Radeon RX 6600 XT is the fifth generation Navi / RDNA2 graphics card from AMD. Displayed at a starting public price of € 380, it is positioned as an entry-level, even mid-range solution. The manufacturer is targeting here players wishing to equip themselves with a graphics card capable of correctly supplying a Full HD monitor.

    The technical point

As for the entire Radeon RX 6000 family, we find under the heatsink of the Radeon RX 6600 XT a GPU using the RDNA2 graphics architecture. We will not go into detail on this architecture that we discussed in our full test of the Radeon RX 6800 XT.

See Also : Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti Driver  Update

If the architecture is identical to the rest of the series, the chip is for its part unique. It is a Navi 23 GPU with 32 execution blocks (CU) for 2,048 compute units. For the other units, there are 128 units dedicated to textures, 64 rendering units or even 32 units dedicated to accelerating effects rendered in raytracing.

    Chace System

The Infinity Cache system is renewed, but it is limited to 32 MB, thus making it possible to reduce the size of the chip (237 mm²) – and therefore its cost. The 11.1 billion transistors are etched in 7 nm by TSMC, like the entire series.

The operating frequency of the GPU is, as with all Radeon RX 6000s, quite high. AMD announces a base frequency of 1968 MHz, for an average frequency in games at 2589 MHz.

    Memory

For memory, the 128-bit bus and aggressive pricing positioning desired by AMD left no other choice than an orientation towards 8 GB of GDDR6 at 2000 MHz. As a result, memory bandwidth is limited to 256 GB / s.

In return, the energy envelope is rather contained, with 160 watts announced by AMD, compared to the 230 watts of the Radeon RX 6700 XT or to the 170 watts of the GeForce RTX 3060, its direct competitor in the Nvidia catalog.

    Construction

Unlike the Radeon RX 6700 XT and higher models, the Radeon RX 6600 XT is not offered as a reference model. In other words, only the so-called ” custom ” models will be marketed by the GPU manufacturer’s partners. For our tests, AMD provided us with an MSI Radeon RX 6600 XT Gaming X. This model is slightly overclocked at the GPU level (+18 MHz).

    Consumption

The power envelope of the MSI graphics card we tested was pushed to 180 watts, compared to 160 watts recommended by AMD. One way to achieve higher operating frequencies.

In practice, we have actually measured this power consumption, with peaks of 190 watts. This nonetheless remains good energy efficiency, which is common to the entire Radeon RX 6000 range.

    Performance in games

The MSI Radeon RX 6600 XT Gaming X that we used in our test posted an average effective frequency of 2640MHz in most games at 1440p rendering.

With this GPU, AMD clearly has its sights set on Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 3060. The latter is outstripped in classic rendering games. This is valid for both Full HD and 1440p.

    RDNA2 Architecture

However, the RDNA2 architecture has shortcomings in games that exploit raytracing effects. This is true once again here, where the Radeon is clearly positioned behind its signed rival Nvidia.

We hoped that the FSR would give this model a performance boost, but it is clear that we will have to wait several more months before this upscaling technology is implemented in a significant number of games.

Nvidia still keeps a lead here with DLSS, more adopted by developers at the time of this writing.

    Higher Definition

The Radeon RX 6600 XT does its job in that it offers enough resources to play properly in Full HD. The higher definition (1440p) is also possible, although it will probably be necessary to go down some levels of graphic detail to maintain fluidity in the busiest scenes of the latest games.

Faster than the GeForce RTX 3060 in classic games, it also comes at a high price, or € 379 recommended starting price.

    More Complicated

But now, the graphics card scene is now much more complicated than that. First of all, there is raytracing, which largely reshuffles the cards. On this, AMD is no match for Nvidia, which systematically keeps a step ahead at this level.

By activating this type of effects, the performance of the Radeon RX 6600 XT collapses in such a way that it rarely becomes possible to maintain a satisfactory fluidity.

    Problem

This problem is all the more important as raytracing compatible games are becoming commonplace, just as DLSS support tends to be generalized on most large video game productions.

Conversely, the AMD FSR upscaling technique is currently quite confidential. Worse still, it is only of interest in higher definitions (ideally in 4K), the graphics rendering in Full HD being particularly degraded, whatever the level of quality selected.

A sum that seems too high for a model that does not allow us to take advantage of the refinements of raytracing .

Radeon RX 6600 XT Software And Manual

Software Driver and Manual > Download

    Conclusion

The Radeon RX 6600 XT is a very good graphics card for gamers who want to play on a Full HD monitor and have no desire to enable raytracing in compatible games.

For them, this model offers performance at a very good level and the controlled power consumption leaves the possibility for manufacturers to offer models with discrete cooling. For others, it is better to turn to a GeForce RTX 3060 or a GeForce RTX 3060 Ti.
